Running out of cloud storage doesn’t always mean it’s time to upgrade your plan. Both Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive include powerful storage management features that help you identify what’s using space and reclaim valuable storage in just a few clicks.
Google Drive provides a detailed storage dashboard that breaks usage down by service, including Google Photos, Gmail, device backups, and Drive files. It also offers smart cleanup recommendations for large photos, videos, spam, and emails with oversized attachments, making it easy to find the biggest storage hogs.
Microsoft OneDrive offers similar tools with a storage overview, file size sorting, and integration with Outlook to help manage large email attachments. One of my favorite features is the ability to preview files, download them for local backup, and then remove them from the cloud to free up space.
Instead of guessing what’s consuming your storage, these built-in features give you a clear picture of where your space is going. Whether you’re a student, educator, or professional, taking advantage of these tools can help you stay organized, avoid unnecessary subscription upgrades, and keep your cloud storage running efficiently.
